‘At the Abbey Theatre’

Richard Lewis is proud to be associated with the centenary celebrations of our national Theatre and to help celebrate, he has created a collection of versatile outfits suitable for any first night or matinee performance.

Getting to and from the theatre he suggests a cuddly boucle day jacket or a wool trench worn over a co-ordinating slip dress, or palazzo pants and chiffon blouse, or why not consider the day jacket with a glamorous silk evening skirt. Reminiscent of returning from the debs or the Trinity Ball. Style and not gooseflesh is the order of the day.

For the matinee, the collection consists of a mix of fabrics in matching or toning colours in neat jackets with tight skirts or more relaxed styles with trousers and all outfits have toning coats.

For the evening; while the classic ankle length long sleeved dress remains, the look is becoming more relaxed, with wider necklines and tiny cap sleeves, which just cover the shoulder.

While hemlines are creeping up the new mid calf length should only be worn with boots or espadrilles. The alternative is a more bouffant style skirt, worn just below the knee, teamed with little neat cardis. The more dramatic the skirt the simpler the top and this season's collection reflect this, with the skirt appearing in a myriad of guises.

For Spring Summer 2004 Richard has chosen a pared colour pallette teaming Burnt Orange with Cream, Magenta with Amethyst and or course classic Black with Cream.

A pallette chosen to flatter the Irish complexion
