Leading Irish couture designer Richard Lewis launched his Spring/Summer 2008 Collection at a reception for invited guests at his studio in South Frederick Street Dublin on Tuesday, April 22nd
For formal days, Richard uses superfine wool crepe in charcoal grey with touches of scarlet, and including hats from The Mad Hatter. The Collection also features jackets in fish scale crepe, a process of moulding the crepe to resemple fish scales.
For less formal days, nutmeg brown and olive green are the colours used, with coats and little fitted jackets in a bobble-effect wool jersey, with matching little ‘nothing’ dresses, skirts, or trousers in plain wool.
For evening his signature matte jersey is used in jewel colours – scarlet, purple, electric blue and kingfisher. Shapes are batwing sleeved, cinched at the waist and high-waisted dresses with detail at the neckline. Add a little jersey or fishscale jacket or the luxury of a pure silk trench.
The ultimate in simplicity!
